Muhammad Hafez bin Mohd Azhar is a Legal Counsel with Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle), a leading start-ups influencer, incorporated under the Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF) in 2003 with a mandate to fund potential and high-calibre tech star-ups through its Cradle Investment Programmes.
His practice focuses on Corporate Law, Corporate Governance, Start-ups Law and Litigation matters.
As a Legal Counsel for Cradle Group, Hafez is responsible for Cradle’s Group Legal Affairs, which includes all kinds of Agreements (such as Funding Agreements, Restructuring Documents, Guarantee Agreements, Shareholders Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Service Agreements, MoU’s, Discharge Documents, IP’s), Joint Venture Agreements, Due Diligences, Corporate Financial Agreements, and Capital Market Law.
Hafez advises both Cradle, Start-ups under Cradle and Cradle’s investee company on day-to-day legal issues affecting the organisation. He takes a proactive approach in giving legal advice, emphasising creative solutions to related problems what would affect Cradle.
Hafez has over 10 years of experience in Financial Sector including Corporate Banking Litigation and General Litigation, Banking Recoveries Issues, Cross Border Transactions, and Islamic Financial Agreements.
Prior to joining Cradle, Has was the Senior Legal Executive at Export – Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank) with responsibilities in Project & Contract Financing.
Hafez started his career in 2008 when he first did his attachment with Messrs Nadzarin Kuok Puthucheary & Tan, before joining the law firm as Legal Assistant.
Hafez holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the International Islamic Universiti Malaysia (IIUM).
