Dr Mohd Iskandar bin Illyas Tan
Dr Mohd Iskandar bin Illyas Tan is a senior lecturer and the Deputy Chairman of UTM – Halal Consortium (UTM-HC), an entity that manages the research and development activities in halal science and technology at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He has founded HOLISTICS Lab Sdn Bhd, a UTM spin-off company to focus on the aspects of commercialization of Halal technology. HOLISTICS Lab is a certified training provider for JAKIM Halal Professional Board training programs. Dr Iskandar has received numerous awards including the Halal Hi-Tech Challenge 2015 and received a grants from UTM and PlatCOM Venture. In addition, he has been accredited by various agencies in Malaysia and received assistance from Halal Hub Division, JAKIM, Penang Islamic Affairs Department, Penang International Halal Hub, Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Center (MaGIC), Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MiGHT) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. He won the Malaysia Commercialisation Year Award in 2018 from the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTEC), Malaysia.
